What the Critics Say
What’s New for 2023
Changes to the iconic Ford F-150 are relatively minor for the 2023 model year. First, a new Rattler package is now available on XL trim levels. This off-road-focused package adds a dual exhaust with black tips, 18-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, Rattler badging, halogen foglights, black interior with bronze color accents, off-road tuned shocks, Rock Crawl mode (from the Tremor), and underbody protection. Both Smoked Quartz Metallic Tinted Clearcoat and Space White Metallic have been discontinued. Similarly, Lariat models are no longer offered in SuperCab configurations.
F-150 Wins 2023 Edmunds Top Rated Award**
Edmunds has been an industry leader in car shopping advice and reviews for over half a century, providing expert research and recommendations for the top vehicles in the industry. For the third consecutive year, the Ford F-150 has been named the Top Rated Truck. Edmunds Editor-in-Chief Alistair Weaver said: “For decades, the Ford F-150 has been America’s workhorse, and it’s never been in better shape. It’s more innovative, more appealing to drive and more versatile than ever before. Nobody understands the needs of the modern truck buyer better than Ford and nobody builds a better truck.”
Ford F-150 Features
Thanks to a comprehensive lineup of 5 different powertrain choices, the Ford F-150 remains the industry leader in terms of performance and capability. Part of this is made possible by the fact that the F-150 targets best-in-class towing, payload, and horsepower ratings. There’s never been a better way to enjoy unrivaled efficiency thanks to the 3.5-liter PowerBoost full hybrid V6 powertrain. Offered on all trim levels, this sophisticated system delivers the most torque and horsepower of any light-duty full-size pickup along with a jaw-dropping EPA-estimated range of approximately 700 miles and 12,700 pounds of available maximum towing capacity. Other highlights include its integrated 35-kilowatt (47-horsepower) electric motor and 10-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission. The other benefits of electrification aren’t restricted to just the engine of the F-150 either. The available Pro Power Onboard feature boosts the capability of the F-150 by adding generator levels of exportable power to job sites, campsites, and even your next tailgate party.
No matter if your goal is to maximize comfort or increase productivity, the ergonomic interior of the Ford F-150 has plenty of impressive amenities. Made possible by the optional Interior Work Surface feature, you can customize your ideal workspace with enough space to enjoy a meal or operate a 15-inch laptop when parked right from the driver’s seat. King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited grades are offered with class-exclusive Max Recline Seats that are able to fold nearly 180 degrees backward, with the bottom cushion rising to meet the back cushion and the upper back support rotating forward up to 10 degrees for ultimate comfort. Using the available Zone Lighting function, passengers can turn individual portions of the exterior lights on and off via the SYNC® 4 screen or remotely with the FordPass app on their phone. Another clever feature found on the F-150 is an available console shifter that’s able to retract neatly to be stored within the storage console at the touch of a button.
Standard across the entire Ford F-150 model range, the revolutionary SYNC 4 infotainment system benefits from customized information readouts along with real-time mapping. Staying connected is easier than ever before thanks to both Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration in addition to helpful SYNC AppLink® apps like Waze and Ford+Alexa. The F-150 also has the honor of being the first full-size truck in North America to come standard with over-the-air updates to help you stay are the forefront of technology. For maximum peace of mind and confidence behind the wheel, Ford Co-Pilot360™ 2.0 provides a comprehensive approach to safety. Along with 10 individual features, the F-150 also boasts the class-exclusive Active Drive Assist, letting drivers enjoy hands-free driving on more than 100,000 miles of divided highways in all 50 states and Canada. Optional Active Park Assist 2.0 can control all steering, shifting, braking, and accelerator inputs during a parallel or perpendicular parking maneuver at the press of a button.
