Motor Trend’s Truck of the Year Goes to the Ford F-150!
It’s no secret that drivers from all across the greater Sheffield, OH area and far beyond love the performance and capability displayed by the gorgeously aggressive Ford F-150; however, to prove just how exceptional this pickup really is, the experts at Motor Trend have chosen to put the spotlight on it with their coveted Motor Trend 2018 Truck of the Year awards, and we here at Mike Bass Ford couldn’t be happier about it.
While we certainly believe the F-150 to be the king of the pickup truck mountain, we don’t expect everyone else to share the same opinion; that said, it’s come to our delighted surprise to learn that the vote for the F-150 was basically unanimous at Motor Trend. Road test editor Chris Walton even went on the record to say, “It was a pretty resounding win. Nothing really came close.” Now that’s a quote to put in a frame if we’ve ever heard one!
Ford gave Motor Trend four different models of the F-150 to toy around with and, after their time testing them, they loved all four in equal measure. They took all four models – the XL 4×2 Supercab, the Lariat 4×4 Supercrew, the Platinum 4×4 Supercrew, and the Raptor Supercab – out to a quarry to really push the limits and their results were that of pure joy. Overall, they lauded the 2018 F-150 for its improved interior materials and quality throughout, the improved usability and intuitiveness of the infotainment system, the improved steering and handling, and the simple but important fact that the F-150 has earned a five-star safety rating from the NHTSA. All of this adds up to a truck that knows how to win and is proud of it.
